123 Send deliver an 'end to end' solution enabling you to set up and process card transactions for your B&B through a mobile terminal.
Their terminals are
available to hire or purchase.
123 Send GPRS Card Payment Terminals
123 Send Mobile Card Payment Terminals are fully chip and PIN compliant for customer present transactions and
are also equipped with customer not present functionality conforming to the latest
security requirements, including address verification (AVS) and cardholder security
code (CSC) software.
The terminals connect to the host banks using GPRS technology; they work with the two largest
network providers in the UK, Vodafone and O2.
A major benefit of using a mobile card payment terminal is that you are not fixed to a
specific point in the building, for example a small B&B may want to be able to take a
payment in a bar or restaurant area as well as a main desk when customers are
calling in with reservations or checking out. It also means that no additional
telephone lines are required which in themselves can cost in the region of £15.00 per
month.
123 Send Bluetooth Card Payment Terminals
The Bluetooth terminal enables a business to accept card payments with the
flexibility of a portable terminal. The terminal has a range of approximately 60 metres
from its base and is ideal if a business does not have sufficient network coverage to
use a GPRS terminal in their location.
The Bluetooth terminal requires a PSTN dedicated telephone line as well as a power
supply for the base for the terminal.
123 Send Countertop Card Payment terminals
The Countertop terminal is designed for use in a fixed location. The Countertop
terminal requires a dedicated PSTN telephone line and a power supply.

Merchant Services
As well as supplying members with a mobile terminal, 123 Send can also arrange a merchant service accounts for you.
The advantage of 123 Send doing this for you is that it saves you having to speak with multiple
companies to arrange the facility and also delivers some great savings on merchant
service costs compared to other organisations. If your business already processes card
transactions, 123 Send can set their terminals up to work alongside your existing merchant
account as the '123 Send' terminal is approved with all of the UK’s acquirers (merchant service
providers).
123 Send can arrange a merchant service account for any B&B Association member
regardless of which UK bank their business account is set up with.
Merchant Service charges
Each card transaction that a business accepts has to be processed, authorised and
settled into the businesses bank account, for this service there is a merchant service
charge. This charge varies dependant on the type of transaction and type of card
being processed as you will see below. Credit card transactions are charged as a
percentage of the overall sale whereas debit cards are charged at a flat rate per
transaction regardless of the transaction value.
Transactions processed when the customer is not present have a small premium due
to the increased risk with this type of transaction.
123 Send offer the following rates to Bed & Breakfast Association members:

Chip and PIN card transactions:
MasterCard transactions charged at 1.65%
Visa credit card transactions charged at 1.65%
Commercial & JCB Credit cards charged at 2.3%
Debit cards charged at 24p per transaction
Customer not present card transactions:
MasterCard transactions charged at 1.75%
Visa credit card transactions charged at 1.75%
Commercial & JCB Credit cards charged at 2.4%
Debit cards charged at 29p per transaction
There is a minimum monthly service charge of £5.00, this is only payable if the
merchant service charges (above) do not equate to £5.00 in any given month.
All each member needs to do is complete the application forms with 123 Send and
once the merchant service account has been approved, 123 Send will deliver the terminal
ready to use. The whole process usually takes between 2-4 weeks from start to
finish. 123 Send use Streamline Merchant Services as our preferred provider of
merchant service facilities, Streamline are the largest acquirer of card payments in
the UK and are part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group.
